If you're new to d&d or RPGs or maybe even geekery (like I am), you may want some assistance in the crafting department.

It's easy to Google videos on ideas, and then never actually sit down to do any of it.

I took months to sit down and start making a d20 out of chain mail. Like, a one day project.

So what if we start a group for getting excited about completing our projects? We can talk painting, or building terrain, or shares tips on where to find ideas. I myself wanna start sculpting a cityscape from Styrofoam. It already resembles a map, so I need to add color and textures to make it usable.

DM/GMs welcome, players welcome, daydreamers welcome. It may take some time to accumulate some regulars, so feel free to cancel last minute or not show up. (We're all living through a pandemic, and I can just go play Neverwinter on Xbox. It's cool.)

So far, we have long time DM/player Tim. He paints minis. And 3D prints some.

My friend John gets tired of d&d, so I would like to help him introduce you to ALL THE OTHER RPGS. Seriously. There's a whole world out there. World Wide Wrestling. Illimat (by The Decemberists) Various map building games, such as Companion's Tale. Ryuutama. Blades in the Dark. Band of Blades. Dungeon World. Monster of the Week. Dread. Mouse Guard. Stuff using the Fate system. Or using the Burning Wheel system. Or maybe just a basic d20 system. Go check out Powered by the Apocalypse or DriveThruRPG. John will probably run these on the weekends, but I wanted to post it on a less busy week day. When people are more likely to read this. Join us for our first game night with LEVELUP Arena at their EXP Bar! This free event allows us to share our favorite light and party games with adults looking for laughs and good company, especially if they have no experience with board games.

July 13: Kansas City Game Designers Playtest Session

The Kansas City Game Designers group is made up of game designers and general board game enthusiasts who meet together regularly to playtest game prototypes and discuss various topics in board and card game design.

We are meeting in-person in the 2nd floor area at Lenexa Public Market. Masks will be required for all attendees.

Have any of you read the D&D novels? Would you like to?

I have read only Forgotten Realms books so far, but I have really enjoyed finding out so much background and detail from the cities of Faerun. Only, I dont have anyone to talk about all of this with, and I would like to build a group- if anyone is interested.
