April 9: Cinemasochists: What happened?

Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 7:30:00 PM The Buffalo Room 817 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO

Copied from Dalemaxfield.com:
"Cinemasochists is a team of comic writers and performers creating movie riffs and reviews. Follow us on Facebook! Check out our upcoming events!

Michael Madsen (stars?) in this cheesy action caper from the team that brought us "Shotgun Jones." Keith David has busted Madsen out of jail to kidnap The President (Roy Scheider). Will Angie Everhart switch sides? Will Madsen's wife be allowed a bra as a hostage? Find out between ALL THE EXPLOSIONS of Executive Target!

Cinemasochists' What Happened series includes a presentation on the making of the chosen film, followed by a live riff performance in the tradition of MST3K. $5 cover, dinner, and drinks served to your table from the Westport Flea Market menu. Movie and riff rated R!"

They run the Cinemasochist show once a month.

I'm posting this event in Dungeons & Dragons because it always kills me that the D&D players will spend 6 hours a week with each other for months, and still not know anything about one another as people. We are a community, we should look out for one another on a more personal level. And hang out in environments that aren't just pretend. So in an effort to change that, I'm inviting D&D people to activities that I go to all the time.

And to tie this into D&D somehow, I'm going to put themes on my activities. Like "For the Bards" theater, movies, concerts, poetry, creative writing, etc. "For the Druids" hiking, cooking, yoga, observing the beauty in the world. "For the Wizards" speakeasies (cocktails are potions), certain movies, intellectual trips to museums. Gotta be honest, I don't relate to melee fighters much, so I will have to refer you to Amtgard (foam swords), LARPing, and working out/nutrition classes (all of which, I have tried).

Everything should be cheap or free. This is going to be an interesting summer.
