A math trade is a computer-driven way to guarantee that you don't give up your game for the one you don't want. Put in the games you want to trade, and tell the computer what other offered games you'd be willing to trade for it. The computer then crunches the numbers, and makes as many people happy as it can. Then you come on February 1st and reap the benefits!
