I will be hosting a series of short adventures using early access material from the Freedom Squadron Kickstarter for the Savage Worlds RPG. I will bring pregen characters, dice, maps, miniatures, and everything you need to play. Feel free to drop in for an hour or stay all night and see how the adventures connect. The table will be limited to 8 players at a time and it will be first come first serve. If we end up with a wait list, I'll ask players who have already had a session to allow new players to take their spot. Do you have what it takes to stop the forces of Venom? Join Freedom Squadron in their ongoing efforts to protect liberty.

May 5: 5th Edition D&D Campaign
Cross-posting from another group for Jon Steel. =) Original event is here:
http://www.meetup.com/dnd-1121/events/205383112/
Join us in a regular 5th Edition D&D Campaign! After much thought, I decided not to follow the Adventurers League adventures for my campaign - instead, I have converted my original 1st Edition campaign to 5th Edition, and will be running this as a "game store" campaign.
What is a "game store" campaign you may ask ? This will be less serious than a "long term" campaign - players are expected to come and go between weeks as needed. Players own their characters - but the characters will be pre-generated prior to the adventure. Hopefully this all equates to "more fun" !
This session will be weekly (unless specifically stated) - and will last 5 hours each week (finishing at 4pm). Please ensure that you support our hosting game-store by purchasing snacks/drinks/game materials if possible at the game store - the space is free after all !
If you've never played 5th Edition - but are used to 1st/2nd/3rd Edition - its exactly like 1st edition ! Very simple character sheets - the rules are incredibly easy to pick up ! Its really, really easy for new players to also pick up in one session - this is definitely the game for everyone !
I'm going to reserve the right to "cap" the table size if we get too large. I can handle up to 10-12 players, but any larger and we become too rowdy ! More details will be forthcoming on table size.

PLEASE NOTE THE NEW LOCATION ! Pawns & Pints has now moved to 613 Walnut Street ! Pawn & Pint is a bar, so legally requires customers to show ID to prove they're over 21 or are accompanied by a Parent/Guardian.
Jon Steel is taking a break from DM'ing currently ! We're now adventuring in DM Aarons' 5e interpretation of the classic "Tegel Manor". All players are welcome - HOWEVER, new players will start at Level 1. Please also note that Tegel Manor is a "dark subject" adventure - and may not be suitable for children.
Join us in our weekly 5th Edition D&D Campaign !
What is a "game store" campaign you may ask ? This is a less serious option than a "long term" campaign - players are expected to come and go between weeks as needed - hence there is a large number of "pre-generated" characters available. If you are regularly playing (and have shown at least a commitment to show regularly) - then you may create your own character using our house-rules.
We run every week (unless specifically stated) and start from 11am and play until around 4.30pm. We usually break for 30 minute for lunch.
There are multiple tables available - currently we have approximately 4 tables in play, and all have open-play availability.
If you are new to the hobby - this is an ideal game for you. We are very welcoming and have different players of all types of experience. We rarely, if ever, turn players away - HOWEVER, you DO need to be at the location at least 30 minutes prior to start - as we need to find you a character and help you understand the house rules ! I'm usually at our location around 10am or so, and this is usually the ONLY reason players might not be able to play !!
We encourage support of our hosting game-store by offering one free re-roll if you spend at least $5 on the day at the game store. Snacks/drinks are included in that. If you've never played 5th Edition - but are used to 1st/2nd/3rd Edition - its exactly like 1st edition ! Very simple character sheets - the rules are incredibly easy to pick up ! May 4: First Friday Shenanigans!?!?
TLDR; Come drink and wander around looking at art in comfortable clothing and shoes, also food.
Full Details:
There will be art, adult beverages, foods that are unhealthy, and walking! Yes, LOTS OF WALKING! Take the weather into consideration when you dress! Wear comfortable shoes. Bring a flask if you have one and some dollar bills for donations for wine! I plan on this running very late, moving on when the galleries close to local bars and/or restaurant. This tends to end in Westport or on a rare night 18th and Vine at the after hours jazz club.
Once we have all gathered in the area around The Brick we will head to galleries. This tends to be between 6:30-6:45. If you will be later, contact me! I can give you an intersection to meet at. The galleries close pretty early though, so get here as early as possible. I'll be in the area before 6 eating and would welcome the company. The sooner we meet up the sooner we can wonder.
Parking:
There is limited street parking in the area, paid parking just northwest of The Brick. The earlier you get to the area the better. I have no secrets or tricks to find a spot, but, I'd suggest starting on the east side of The Star building. It is about a block north of our starting location and seems to have empty spots a little longer than other areas. I am happy to walk anyone back to their car at the end of the event if there is a safety concern. We all have spots that we know look fine to park in during daylight but will get sketchy at night. Though we have not had any issues with any of our vehicles at this event and we have parked all over the area.
How we do:
We will start the night at The Brick or the food trucks across from it all depending on personal preference for start of the night food and drinks. From there we will wander the streets in a relentless horde looking for beautiful art and libations. All you really need to bring is a positive/adventurous attitude, some dollar bills for tipping, and maybe something to tide you over between galleries, ie a flask, some wine, or your poison of choice.
Please be responsible. If you will imbibe, find a parking place that will work over night and take a cab or Uber home. Or take it to and from the event. Not having to worry about you helps me have a good time. I'll be doing the same! Hell, I'm willing to share one if you wanna sleep on one of my luxurious couches!
Things not to bring:
-Negative opinions of the art while still in the gallery! The artists are there and have worked pretty hard on that dreadful item you are looking at. Please keep the criticisms to the minimum if not constructive.
-Uncomfortable clothing or shoes! It may rain, it may be hot, it may be cold, and it will definitely include walking. Everyone is happier when everyone is comfortable. Don't let the weather or walking keep you away, just plan ahead! Walking in the rain in a big group between gallerias can be a blast! Someone complaining the whole time about it sucks!

April 29: Codex Open Play League
Join our master Game Guru Jared as he runs our ongoing Codex League! Codex: Card-Time Strategy is a customizable, non-collectible card game set in the Fantasy Strike universe that's inspired by real-time strategy video games such as Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Players each control three different heroes and have access to a tech tree that allows them to use different strategies each time they play.
The goal of the game is to destroy the opponent's base. To do this, players build up an army of units and heroes. Players determine the exact composition of their armies as they play by adding cards to their deck based on the tech they've chosen to pursue.
No experience is needed, and playing supplies will be provided. All we need is you! Compete for ranking, or just play for fun, there's no wrong answers in the ever changing action packed world of Codex!

May 1: Junior D&D Adventurers League
At Pawn & Pint we firmly believe that it is never too early to introduce your kids to Gaming. The social, interpersonal, strategic thinking and comprehension skills they'll develop will last a life time! So it is with enthusiasm we present our ongoing Junior Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League!
Run by one of our house Dungeon Masters, Tyler Garland, this weekly game is designed for player aged 10 to 17 to learn and experience the world's greatest Role Playing Game, Dungeons & Dragons, in a safe and family friendly environment. Parents and Families are welcome to join in the game as well!!
The game will follow D&D Adventurers League guidelines, and all the supplies needed to play the game will be provided, including character sheets, dice, miniatures and more. All we need is you!
We do remind parents and guardians that as a bar, Pawn & Pint requires adult supervision of minors. Even if you don't want to join the game yourself, we will gladly make you comfortable in our cafe environment while your younglings play the games!
This event occurs every Tuesday Night at 7:00pm and is $5 per Player, or Free for Pawn & Pint Members. You don't have to come to every game session, and can jump in an out at your leisure.

Please note the new location for Pawns & Pints !
This is a cross-posting from the Dungeons and Dragons Meetup group.
Its really, really easy for new players to also pick up in one session - this is definitely the game for everyone !
I do reserve the right to "cap" the table size if we get too large. We have had table-sizes of up to 10-12 players, but any larger and we become too rowdy !
Players are free to this event only. If you wish to stay to play boardgames, there is a $5 fee for non-members.
